Trezor, a popular Bitcoin (BTC) hardware wallet, has said that its newsletter has been hacked, warning users of phishing attacks. The company’s chief information security officer (CISO) had just given users advice on how to stay safe in the crypto world just a few days before. An employee of the company that makes Trezor, SatoshiLabs, wrote a detailed guide for crypto users on how to keep their money safe. This comes several days after the guide was published. When Andrak wrote the article, he talked about 10 things that could make it less likely that you’d be hurt.
In the first place, he said that strong, unique passwords are important. As long as they are at least 12 characters, he said passwords should be made up of letters, digits, and other special symbols. Secondly, he said that multifactor authentication should be used. There are many types of multifactor authentication, but SMS authentication and software-based authentication are the two most popular ways to protect your account.
tips for other things:
- Use the most up-to-date software because older software is more likely to be hacked by scammers.
- Genuine software usually gives third-party actors access to operating systems and other files; non-genuine software usually does not.
- avoid public Wi-Fi: bad people can use public Wi-Fis to get private information.
- Before you click on a link in a text message, always check the sender, the text, and the link itself.
- If you want to protect your computer from malware, you should use antivirus and malware protection, keep up with the latest cyber security news, and keep your computer safe.
- Keep a copy of your data and encrypt it.
The company said in a tweet on Sunday that they are “investigating a possible data breach of an opt-in newsletter hosted on MailChimp.”
It said: Trezor told us.
“A fake email about a data breach is going around. If you get an email from noreply@trezor.us, don’t open it. This is a phishing domain.”
There were a lot of people who use Trezor early on Sunday who took to Twitter to show off a suspicious email they got from the company through their registered email addresses.
106,856 users’ data was hacked, the email says. People can then download the most recent version of Trezor’s software from a website that looks like the real thing. It’s a version of the company’s desktop suite software.
Hey trezor, are you aware of a phishing campaign going on? I just received this email with my actual email on it. It looked very legit. pic.twitter.com/GF0Od6llr2

This is what Trezor said in the most recent update: “MailChimp has confirmed that their service has been hacked by an insider who is targeting crypto companies.” They also said that they were able to take the phishing domain down.
“It’s not going to be possible for us to send newsletters until the problem is solved. Do not open any emails that look like they came from Trezor until we hear from you again “They said that. “Please make sure that you are using anonymous email addresses for any bitcoin-related work.”
