ETHDenver and the state of Colorado want the Web3 community to use the power of blockchain technology for the good of the whole community.
On February 18, 2022, Colorado Governor Jared Polis will give the keynote address at ETHDenver, the world’s largest annual Web3 Community Innovation and Blockchain Festival. The event will be held at the Sports Castle in downtown Denver. Governor Polis will talk about the state’s goal to keep using blockchain technology to improve the lives of Coloradans and the public good.
“Blockchain is a transformative technology bringing real change to Coloradans, and I am proud that Colorado is a national leader in blockchain innovation,” said Governor Polis. “By attracting good jobs and innovators in infrastructure, digital identity, and individual data security, blockchain is a meaningful investment in improving Coloradans lives.”
Colorado is the first state to use blockchain technology in the government’s buildings and other things that people use. During the BUIDL week hackathon this year, the State of Colorado and ETHDenver will give out four prizes. From February 11 to 16, teams will work on state-level blockchain applications.
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, and Kimbal Musk, a South African entrepreneur who lives in Colorado, will be at the event. Musk will talk about his new philanthropic project, the Big Green DAO.
US Impact Lawyer and Attorney for the Colorado Supreme Court Yev Muchnik, will also give an update on legislative efforts to make Colorado the first digital state and allow Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) to be legal entities. She will also talk about how to make DAOs legitimate.
When SporkDAO, a community-driven DAO, and the State of Colorado work together, it’s the first time that a DAO and a US State are working together to spread blockchain technology across the country, the world, and the state of Colorado.
