Bitmain Unveils 255 TH/s Liquid-Cooled ASIC Mining Rig

Bitmain, a leading maker of ASIC mining devices, has unveiled a new bitcoin miner that is even quicker than the company’s previous model, which achieved 198 terahash per second (TH/s). The latest variant, the Antminer S19 XP Hyd., is also a liquid-cooled ASIC mining device capable of producing 255 TH/s at a rate of 20.8 joules per terahash (J/T).

Bitmain Unveils the Most Efficient Mining Rig to Date at 255 TH/s and 20.8 J/T

Bitmain, a developer of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), is making waves with its latest product. The Antminer S19 XP Hyd. is a new bitcoin miner from Bitmain that is even more powerful than the Antminer S19 Pro+ Hyd. that was announced in late January.

The Antminer S19 XP Hyd. claims to generate a staggering 255 TH/s of computational power, which is far quicker than today’s top computers, which generate between 100 and 112 TH/s. Additionally, the new ASIC is far quicker than the S19 Pro+ Hyd., which has a throughput of 198 TH/s. While that particular machine will not be available to the general public until May 2022, the most recent 255 TH/s machines will not be delivered until January to March 2023.

Both machines are currently available for purchase on Bitmain’s website. According to the specifications, the hydro-cooling miner is capable of mining BTC, BCH, and BSV, and each unit consumes 5,304 watts from the wall. A single S19 XP Hyd. is priced at $19,890, and the manufacturer also accepts bulk purchases.

Meanwhile, the S19 Pro+ Hyd. is also available for $15,048 per unit, although the XP offers slightly higher joules per terahash efficiency. The hydro-cooling Pro+ unit has a 27.5 J/T efficiency rating, whereas the XP unit has a 20.8 J/T efficiency rating.

Despite the fact that both machines are now unavailable to the general public, the Microbt Whatsminer M30S++ and the Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro remain the top machines today. Bitmain does not presently have any S19 Pro units available (110 TH/s), however the business does sell S19j Pro units with 104 TH/s for $9,984 per mining rig.

At 110 to 112 TH/s, the two aforementioned machines will earn somewhat more than $10 per day in BTC profits, assuming $0.12 per kilowatt-hour electricity expenditures (kWh). According to estimates, a miner may earn approximately $19.89 per day in BTC profits using today’s BTC price of $0.12 per kWh and an S19 Pro+ Hyd. unit.

Additionally, the producer of ASIC mining devices is selling S19 XP machines with 140 TH/s for $11,620 per rig. The company appears to have ASIC inventory on hand, as the majority of Bitmain’s mining rigs sold out last month. According to Bitmain’s website, the hydro-cooling miners are ideally suited for usage in the company’s bespoke containers. The company is selling container units dubbed the Antspace HK3 for $110,000 each. Each container carries 210 mining machines and one megawatt (MW) of power.
