After months of teasing AMC Theatres finally debuts online payments for Bitcoin

AMC Theaters now accepts online repayments in Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin, with Dogecoin coming next.

American cinema large AMC Theatres is sooner or later adopting cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) for online repayments following months of teasing the new charge option.

AMC CEO Adam Aron introduced Thursday that the business enterprise now proudly accepts four principal cryptocurrencies along with Bitcoin, Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC) for online payments.

The new payment approach already debts for 14% of AMC’s whole online transactions, Aron said, adding that cryptocurrencies join usual payment selections like Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal, the CEO wrote.

Dogecoin (DOGE), a popular meme cryptocurrency that skyrocketed 9,000% over the past year, will be the subsequent digital foreign money standard for online payments at AMC, Aron noted. He earlier promised that AMC will help DOGE repayments for tickets after his 140,000 Twitter poll convinced the company to take delivery of the cryptocurrency as payment.

Aron in the end performed a comparable poll for Shiba Inu (SHIB), another popular meme cryptocurrency that overtook Dogecoin in market capitalization in late October.

The modern-day information comes in line with AMC’s plans to debut Bitcoin payments for movie tickets by the end of 2021. The organisation announced the diagram in August, sooner or later increasing the list of supported cryptocurrencies with cash like ETH, BCH, LTC and DOGE.

AMC has been steadily coming near its intention of accepting cryptocurrency payments with the aid of year-end, debuting crypto repayments for digital gift card purchases in early October.
